I hate it when everyone says "Why do we need a special day to celebrate love?" If these same people think back to when was the last time they did "celebrate their love" they would probably discover that it was the last Valentine's Day. If you are such a stickler for the equality of days, may be you should stop celebrating the day you weighed the earth down by another 80 kilos, because it's "just a day like any other."
And for those who object to commercialisation; think of it as the corporate saving of your lazy ass. Since you sat on it for thirteen days you get a slightly less thoughtful and significantly more expensive lifesaver.
For those who gave hand made cards/hand painted mugs...it's your first year son, we'll see what you give two years from now. Muhahahaaaaa...
